Back by popular demand is our fat-free cheese that you know and love! This is the same cheese formula and flavor that was previously known as Lifetime Cheese, now labeled with a new brand name and logo.
History of Our Fat-Free Cheese
One of the many great local companies we work with at Northwoods Cheese Co LLC is Lifetime Cheese. Lifetime Cheese was a family business that was started in 1979 by Jone Chappell and her partner Cynde Brown. Jone and Cynde had a vision to create cheeses that taste great while having much less fat and cholesterol than traditional cheeses.
Lifetime Cheese was the first company to offer reduced-fat cheeses in the early 1980s and fat-free cheeses in the early 1990s. The success of Lifetime Cheese came from the constant focus on quality, variety, and performance. They only used the best ingredients to produce cheeses that tasted great and melted exceptionally well.
In 2022, the supplier of Lifetime Cheese unfortunately stopped making the cheese under that brand name. Thankfully by early 2024 we were able revitalize this product and rebranded under the name LifeWise Fat-Free Cheese.
